In 2003/4 a series of creative happenings were staged in aid of CARE International’s Iraq - Victims of War appeal, in London. The Axis of Weevil events were a knockout success, attracting coverage from the Guardian and support from John Hegley, Dave Gorman, Steve Larkin and other leading poets and comediens who took to the stage -an overturned crate in an underground Shoreditch club. The creative motif? Interactive artpiece, the Pop Heart first appeared on the floor of the Tate Modern as part of this creative motif against war, and was later filmed by Sheffield Independent Film and the BBC on Valentines Day 2005 in aid of the British Heart Foundation’s Heart Nurse Appeal.
