I grew up in Cambridge and have explored many different areas of Art and Craft over the years. I went to Art College as a mature student, where I learned my skills as a stained glass artist.  For a short period, I worked in the stained glass studio of Susan Matthews, stained glass artist and curator of Ely Cathedral stained glass museum.

I have worked in this medium now for 20 years, and have sold my work at various fairs and galleries in and around Cambridge , most recently in 2008, I exhibited my work at Williams Art and Antiques in Gwydir street.  I have always undertaken private commissions both designing and restoring stained glass windows, mostly for private clients.  Past commissions have included work for Ely Cathedral and Chilford Hall  .For the past nine years I have taught  stained glass courses for manor community college, Whitehouse arts, Rowan foundation, and for school groups, as well as teaching generall art/craft  to special needs groups, such as Castle school and the Alzheimers’ society.

I have always liked working creatively with transparent materials and had a fascination with the way light shines through them and the way light can be used.  Themes which inspire my own work are flowing shapes and patterns, capturing the movement of fluid matter such as air and water, their interplay with light, and the way in which they change and distort the appearance of solid shapes.  I also love vibrant colour and the way colours work with each other and with light.
